Senior Portrait: Rocket

23 Oct 2012 / 1 Comment / in photography, work

Everybody’s senior portraits look similar. I had an itch to do something completely different and thankfully Rocket took the time in the studio with me to do so. I have always wanted to try out composite photography where two completely different images are brought together. This is my first shot and yes they are not perfect, but I learned quite a bit. There are a few things I would do differently but im not going to expose those secrets. These two are not perfect but you bet ill keep at it.

However we still got the back up typical and expected portrait.

Skida Catalog

26 Aug 2012 / 0 Comments / in BLOG, design, photography, work

Skida founder & owner Corinne Prevot commissioned me to photograph and design this seasons catalog.
Photographer / Cinematographer Mark Oliver joined in on the photography and I am happy he did. One may think having two photographers on one shoot would be mayhem but it was actually the opposite. We split the five models between us and were constantly photographing.
We went for a clean and hip design for the catalog.
The process of the entire project was a fun challenge and I am excited to present the e-catalog.

I was hired to film some B roll for the Sun Valley Road Rally. I took my favorite footage and created a quick edit.

I haven’t dabbled in FCP X since it first came out but I decided to give it another try. I will continue working in ti for most projects as it really helped speed up my process. FCP X helped me focus on creativity instead of technical bs like 5-7 demanded.

SFP Studio Jewelry

17 Jul 2012 / 1 Comment / in photography, work

I was asked to shoot Jewelry for SFP Studio out of Ketchum ID. I had never photographed jewelry before and thought it would be a great time to try out macro photography. I borrowed a 180mm from mentor and started shooting. I quickly found a new respect for macro photographers and realized that the depth of field was much much tighter than I anticipated. Becoming a little frustrated outside of my comfort zone going back to a 50mm seemed much easier. But my mentor urged me push on and I ended up enjoying the process. Big thanks to Nina Fox for the lens, assistance, and creative direction and SFP Studio for giving me the opportunity.
